Bike Tour of West Roxbury Urban Wilds
|
To kick off Bike Month, the Boston Natural Areas Network sponsored a bike tour of the urban wilds of West Roxbury. It was a gorgeous day, and we visited some wonderful places: Bellevue Hill, Hancock Woods, Leatherbee Woods, Brook Farm, Millenium Park, Rivermoor, and the right-of-way of the former Providence Secondary Line that could have been a nice rail trail across the neighborhod until it was sold off to abutters by the state. All of the other riders came from south of the Neponset River, Quincy and Milton, and I extended the ride to take most of them on my favorite bike path through Stony Brook Reservation on their way home.
