We left Fitchburg early on Thursday morning after many of us spent
Wednesday night in dorms. We started with relatively gentle hills
and after the rest stop, there were lots of views of Mount Monadnock,
which dominates the area. There were wild blueberries within reach
along the road a few times, too, if you looked down. After an interesting
lunch stop, those of us on the short ride zoomed to Keene to try to beat
approaching storm clouds. Most of us did, though riders on the long
route got wet. Two of our riders were yoga instructors and did a class
in the dry pavilion which loosened up most of my joints after more riding
at one time than I am used to.
