Boston Fairmount Greenway Bike Tour, Saturday, August 17, 2013

Led by Fairmount Green Task Force planner Michelle Moon, we toured the proposed
Fairmount Greenway from South Bay to Mattapan, with stops to hear fron local
activists devoloping their neighborhood greenspaces. This is more a quiet route
following a train line with few enough crossings that major streets can be
avoided most of the time than a swath of green with a ribbon of bike path running
through it. Open space in this part of the city requires a lot of work, and the
community is beginning to get to it. I co-led a tour 3 years ago which covered
some of the same ground, but started at the southern end, in Readville.
