Saturday, September 29: Mattapan Milton Neponset Community Celebration
The Mattapan Milton Neponset Community (MMNC) has rescheduled their May 12th rained out celebration for Saturday, September 29th from 12-3 pm. The MMNC is celebrating the community around the long-awaited extension of the Neponset River Greenway trail from Central Avenue in Milton to the MBTA's station in Mattapan. We'll have musicians, spoken word artists, arts and crafts, a family-friendly bike ride along the trail---all at the Harvest River Bridge and the field behind Ryan Playground (spray deck park) at 350 River Street in Mattapan.

If your group promotes youth, wellness, creativity, neighborhood engagement, and the elimination of structural racism, you're invited to set up a table to share information and resources about your organization. Sign up here if you'd like to join us!

Changes Coming to Mattapan Square for Pedestrians
The Boston Transportation is working with its consultants, Toole Design, to improve pedestrian crossings between River St., Cummins Highway, and Blue Hill Ave. The first changes will be small, but they want the community to be on the lookout for those experiments. Major or permanent changes won't happen before there is a public meeting.

No Trail Opening Yet!
As of now, no date convenient to the DCR and elected officials has been set, and the communities have been unable to get a permit from the DCR to hold their own event. An email will go out if a date is set before the September newsletter is mailed.
