16th Annual Neponset Pumpkin Float
(with help from volunteers)
It's
that time again! On Thursday, October 26 at 5:00 pm, join the Deparment
of Conservation and Recreation and the Neponset River Greenway Council
to float jack-o-lanterns on Davenport Creek in Pope John Paul II Park in
Dorchester. Bring your SMALL carved pumpkins and we'll put them on
floats, add candles, and send them down the creek around 6:00 pm.
Please use the Hallet St entrance.
DCR will provide the floats and candles. If your pumpkin is too heavy,
not carved out, or larger than 8", it will probably not float.
Costumes are encouraged!
We need VOLUNTEERS! Please contact Maria Lyons or Ellie Spring if you can help!
Harvest River Bridge at Night
On
my way home from the September Greenway Council meeting at the Milton
Yacht Club in a light drizzle, I decided to ride the closed trail
instead of getting hit by drivers impaired by wet windshields and found
the Harvest River Bridge to be quite beautiful.
The High-Speed Line Goes Visiting
Lee
Toma snapped these images of Ashmont-Mattapan trolleys trying to travel
in time and space beyond their restricting tracks to the past and
present Green Line.
