Neponset River Greenway Council Meeting

Join
us for our monthly meeting as we discuss progress of construction of
the Neponset Trail and other issues along the Neponset River Greenway
with staff from the Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation,
which manages it, the police who patrol it, and concerned
citizens. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month
at rotating locations in communities of

Along the Trail:
Port Norfolk Park Grand Opening
On Saturday May 6 at 2:30 pm, a ceremony with state officials and politicians will officially open DCR's Senator Joseph Finnegan Port Norfolk Park.
Some of us will bike over from Mattapan Station at 1:30 pm
Mattapan and Milton Neponset Trail Construction Update
Construction
has been mostly on hold over our extended winter, but should be
finished this spring. We hope for a June opening ceremony.

The DCR is working with the Neponset River Greenway Council on signage for the Neponset Trail. Here are some examples of current DCR signs elsewhere.

Other Spring Events Along And Near the Neponset
● Celebrate the Trail: Bike and walk from Mattapan Station to Central Ave. on the next weekend afternoon after both bridges are open.
● Spring Neponset Trail Bike Ride,
Saturday, May 27 10:00 am: Bike along the Neponset Trail, present
and future, from Paul's Bridge at the Boston Milton line to Castle
Island and back.
