Join us for our monthly meeting as we discuss progress of construction of the Neponset Trail and other issues along the Neponset River Greenway with staff from the Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation, which manages it, the police who patrol it, and concerned citizens. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at rotating locations in communities of the Lower Neponset. The agenda is at

Along the Trail:
Mattapan and Milton Construction Update
The bridges over drainage ditches are in. Railings are being installed on the Harvest River Bridge. Protective barriers are going in over the trolley wires on the Canopy Bridge. This section of the trail should be completed by early spring.

Mattapan Station Parking Lot Development Meeting
The third meeting regarding the development at the MBTA parking lot will be Tuesday, January 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Mattapan Library (1350 Blue Hill Ave.).
From the developers, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Nuestra Comunidad:
We would love to work with you on the current proposed design for the development of the parking lot next to the Mattapan trolley station into a mix of affordable and market-rate housing, and retail space. This meeting is a continuation of previous discussions on the visioning and planning process for this site, which began in November 2015.
Spring Events Along And Near the Neponset
● Celebrate the Trail: Bike and walk from Mattapan Station to Central Ave. on the next weekend afternoon after both bridges are open.
● First Weekend of Spring Bike Ride, Saturday, March 25 10:00 am: Bike along the Neponset Trail, present and future, from Paul's Bridge at the Boston Milton line to Castle Island and back.
● Earth Day Stony Brook Ride, Saturday, April 22 10 am: Follow the route of Stony Brook from the top of Bellevue Hill in Stony Brook Reservation to the Back Bay Fens.
● Bike Week Mother Brook Ride, Saturday, May 13 10 am from the corner of Nott St. and Fairmount St. in Hyde Park (at the Hyde Park sign) to the Charles River and back, partly following the Dedham Rail Trail.
