Neponset River Greenway CouncilMission: The Neponset River Greenway Council advocates for the completion and maintenance of the multi-use Neponset Trail and adjacent parks and the environmental preservation of the surrounding Neponset River Greenway. The Council educates the public on the benefits of the Greenway for recreation, active transportation, enjoyment of nature, and improved health and wellness. The work of the Council helps to strengthen relationships between all of the people of the communities along the Neponset River.

History: Members from the neighborhoods of Boston and Milton along the Neponset
River have met on the first Wednesday of almost every month since 1992 to
focus community support on the Neponset River, its parks, and
the Neponset Trail, which connects them on land. We were originally
convened by the Boston Natural Areas Fund (which later became the Boston
Natural Areas Network). We have operated since April 2015 as a
separate organization and incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation
in 2020.
Online: We discuss Neponset Greenway issues on the
neponsetgreenway Google discussion group between meetings. | |
